Qualifications
The Pantego Fire Department is accepting applications to fill a temporary full-time position which has been created due to a member being called to active duty with the U.S. armed forces. This position will exist for one year beginning in July 2008 after which time the individual who occupies the position must vacate the position. An opportunity to remain a full-time permanent employee may develop if future budgetary changes allow. This person occupying this temporary position will have all of the benefits and rights of a permanent full-time employee while they occupy the position.
Applicant must be 21 years of age by employment date
Applicant must complete an employment application
Applicant must CURRENTLY possess the following certifications or licenses
Certified as Basic Firefighter
Certified as Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic or Intermediate
Class C Drivers License (must agree to obtain Class B with Firefighter Exemption)
Applicant must not have any prior Felony or DWI convictions
Applicant must not have more than three Class C misdemeanor traffic violations in the last three years
Applicant may not be color blind in both eyes
Applicant's visual accuity must be correctable to 20/40
Applicant must be able to pass the following tests/exams:
Department Physical Ability test
Written test of Fire knowledge
Polygraph and Psychological
examinations
Medical physical including cardiac
treadmill and strength testing
Personal background investigation
